Getting Started
I’ve had a Notion page as my “portfolio” for a while. It did the job: listed my work, linked to my GitHub, kept things organised. But it always felt like a placeholder.
So I built this.
Why a Personal Site
The short answer: I wanted a home on the internet that felt like mine. Notion is great for internal docs, but it’s not a canvas.
The longer answer: I’m 25, working as a Solutions Architect at AWS in London, and I want to show my work properly. Not just list it. Explain it. Talk about what I learned, what went wrong, what I’d do differently.
What I’ll Write About
Mostly things I’m learning and thinking about:
- Cloud architecture: patterns, trade-offs, things that break at scale
- AI/ML in production: not the hype, the actual engineering
- Building things: project deep-dives, technical decisions, lessons learned
- Career: navigating tech in your 20s, moving to London, working at a hyperscaler
No fixed schedule. I write when I have something worth saying.
The Stack
This site is built with Astro, Tailwind CSS and MDX. Solarized Light colour palette because I have taste.
If you want to talk, I’m at yagotobiosouto@gmail.com or on LinkedIn.
